This meeting was called to go over the final figures for the 2005-2006 budget. Alderman Long thanked the board for their hard work on this budget, and lets them know that this is the first finance committee that Coopertown has had in four years.
Alderman Long begins going over all revenue and expenditure figures.
Alderman Long informs board of a few expenditure figures that were either raised or dropped in order to better adjust the budget.
Alderman Long lets board know that $75,000 is what is budgeted under Fire Protection; however, the fire committee has decided to offer $52,500 instead. Alderman Long informs the board that while this number of $52,500 could go up some it will not go over $75,000. We will also be asking the Fire Department for reimbursement on the vehicle insurance.
Mayor Crosby informs board to be aware that there are still pending lawsuits within the city and that the board may need to keep this in consideration for next year's budget. Alderman Long asks Alderman Ruth, who was present at the meeting, if she has looked into the Williams House Claim as asked by Mayor Crosby. Alderman Ruth states that while she thinks Mayor Crosby made a comment about this she has not yet looked into this situation.
The board continues to discuss the budget figures and Alderman Long asks the citizens present, Sam Childs and Peggy Ruth, if they have any questions. No questions were asked.
A motion was made by Ed Niec to send this final budget to the board of Mayor and Alderman for review, and this was seconded by Joyce Young.
Alderman Long asks if there were any further comments or questions.
Adjournment at 8:30 p.m.
